Many of his students came from poor families, and the school had limited resources, overcrowded classrooms, and very few computers.

Tabichi became known for donating a large portion of his salary to help students pay for food, uniforms, school supplies, and other basic needs.

His support allowed many children who might otherwise have dropped out to continue their education.

Despite scarce resources, he encouraged students to pursue science and innovation.

Under his guidance, students participated in national and international competitions, often outperforming schools with far greater funding.

In 2019, he won the Global Teacher Prize, an international award created by the Varkey Foundation and often described as the world’s most prestigious teaching award.

The prize included a $1 million award.
