I Found a Strange Little Object on My Floor—Then I Discovered What It Really Was


I finally learned it wasn’t trash, or a parasite from some horror story, but the handmade shelter of a case-bearing moth larva. A plaster bagworm, quietly dragging its tiny, camouflaged home across my floor, built from lint, dust, and forgotten fibers. Something I nearly swept away without a second thought turned out to be a life, mid-story, doing its best to survive in the margins of my attention.
