Why Millennial Woman Is Convinced She ‘Manifested’ Her Boyfriend Goes Viral

Manifestation is often cited on TikTok as a method for finding love, and one woman’s story of how she found a boyfriend has gone viral on the platform.

On April 8, Gabriela Ulloa (@gabyulloa_) posted a video on TikTok about the manifestation method she used to find a boyfriend.

“I literally manifested my boyfriend, and nobody can tell me otherwise. This is how I did it,” Ulloa, 28, said in the video, which has received more than 422,000 views and 25,000 likes. She also spoke with Newsweek about how it all happened and why she believes manifestation is to thank.

In the video, Ulloa explained that about a year before she met her current boyfriend, she had transitioned out of another relationship and was reckoning with herself about what she wanted in a partner.

“I learned a very harsh lesson that I needed to learn. It was a lesson that was really poking at my abandonment wound,” she said in the video, adding, “The lesson was that I was attracting very emotionally unavailable men because I was moving in a very emotionally unavailable way. I was really scared to let somebody in.”

Ulloa said she made a “granular” list about the things she wanted in a partner and relationship. A month later, she met her boyfriend, who embodied her list perfectly.

Ulloa told Newsweek she was inspired to make the video after being inundated with negative dating content online.

“I wanted to shed some light on the positive side of dating and the experience I went through when I was ready to be in a relationship,” she said. “The point of this video was to highlight the power of manifestation. The work, for me at least, has been to get to a place where I believe I am truly worthy of the things I’m manifesting, taking aligned action, and then letting the universe do its thing.”

The Origin of ‘the List’

The idea for Ulloa’s relationship list came from a psychic intuitive in Los Angeles.

“After one of our sessions, she suggested I take the time to write down absolutely everything I was desiring in a partner,” Ulloa said. “From how they made me feel and their values and innate qualities to the ways I wanted to show up in the relationship and even some physical features. She told me to play and dream, so that’s exactly what I did.”

The biggest thing Ulloa said she had to keep in mind while making the list was the clarity of her own desires, which she made separate from what loved ones or society desired for her.

“I wanted to be extremely grounded, clear and intuitive about the things I was putting on that list,” she said. And it seems to have paid off.

“I remember when I was single, a friend of mine sent me a voice note reminding me that I deserve ease,” she said. “That’s what this relationship feels like—not because there aren’t normal challenges, which all couples face, but because of how light and expansive this love is. He’s completely redefined what being in a loving, kind and fulfilling relationship feels like.”

In her video, Ulloa urged viewers to do their own work and harness what she believes is the power of manifestation.

“The moral of the story, though, is to get extremely clear on what it is that you actually want,” she said. “Ignore the noise. What do you want?”
