A woman became the UK’s youngest grandma at 34, embracing her new role with joy. July brought her first grandchild.

UK’s youngest grandma, Rachel McIntyre, embraced her role when her 17-year-old daughter’s pregnancy was revealed in 2022. Despite initial astonishment from followers due to her youthful appearance, she now proudly holds the title of UK’s youngest grandma at 34.

Despite holding the distinction of UK’s youngest grandma, she is consistently ID’d due to her youthful appearance.

Rachel, who also has a 10-year-old daughter, shared: “People don’t even believe I’m my daughter’s mom. They look at me in complete shock when I tell them. They’re like, ‘Wait, are you not sisters?’ When I say I’m a granny too, it’s even more of a shock. I always get asked for ID because I look so young. It’s annoying, but it’s a bit of a compliment too.”

Rachel got pregnant at 15, experiencing the challenges of young motherhood firsthand.

Now facing grandmotherhood early, Rachel McIntyre understands the difficulties of being a young, full-time mom.

She added, “My daughter only just turned 18, and I was very shocked when I found out she was pregnant. But once it sunk in, I started getting excited. I knew that I was going to support her as well.”
